Tell Junipurr It’s Friday!
Happy Friday, friends! What are you up to this weekend? Favorite Parent (FP) and I recently started a game of surreptitiously setting treats on Junipurr's back in that tiny zone she can’t easily reach -- you know, the Bermuda triangle between the base of the neck and the shoulder blades. Her little nose sniffs the air with much appetite, but she doesn't realize the treat is on her person. Us pet parents are easily amused, aren’t we? ;)
Speaking of good entertainment, this week’s Friday Feline Finds (#linkpack) is all about animal related gems on Youtube!
DIY Cat bed made from sweaters - Is the weather heating up where you are too? Before you pack those sweaters away or put them in the donation bin, check out this incredible tutorial. The cat beds look so comfy! As someone who struggles with craft-titis, a condition in which one is born with zero crafting abilities whatsoever, even I am motivated to give this a try.
The Animal Law Conference - Did you know that every year around December, incredible humans who work in the worthy field of animal law convene to share ideas and research, and every subsequent spring they make all of the panels available for free on Youtube? The 2021 conference featured talks on topics like:
Reforming the Common Law Foundations of Our Relationship with Animals
Litigating for Change: Challenges, Opportunities, and Victories
Transforming the Lives of Animals by Building Stronger Communities, and so much more.
It’s super worth checking out, my fellow animal welfare advocates!
Recently while attempting to learn to play the ukulele, I came across the Youtube channel Bernadette Teaches Music, and I learned something. No, not how to play the ukulele (although Bernadette is an excellent teacher). I learned that all things are better with cats. In fact, I hereby offer this hypothesis to social scientists everywhere: People learn better when there is a cat in the learning experience.
Have a restorative weekend, friend!
